Review: Toronto Christmas Market

“Rediscover the magic and romance of Christmas at the Toronto Christmas Market. Ranked one of the Top 10 Holiday Markets in the World”

Toronto Christmas Market

On December 17, 2016, my roommate and I wanted to check out the Toronto Christmas Market, especially during this time of the year, to get into the holiday spirit. It took place in the Distillery District, which is a neighbourhood located on the East side of Downtown Toronto, filled with 80 amazing boutique shops selling clothes, jewelry, food & gifts.

Boy, were we right, as you entered the front entrance, there was a big, bright Christmas light sign, as shown above, reading “Toronto Christmas Market”, which made it feel magical.

Glue wine aka “Mulled wine”
We started our night with Glue wine, also known as “Mulled wine”. It was very hot, which was suitable for the cold weather, and warmed up our stomach while we were walking around.

Traditional Poutine
After, we decided to try the Montreal famous poutine that was sold at the stall – I liked that the “traditional poutine” we ordered was a perfect sizeable portion and did not fill up our stomach.

Furthermore, we explored the shops and came across the pastry boutique, which has a variety of cupcakes & mini cheesecakes, so we decided to purchase 3 different desserts. The chocolate mint & coconut cupcakes and the red velvet cheesecake were my favourite ones, and we paired it with our Moët – Rose Grand Vintage champagne as a celebration of my roommate’s end of exam & end of the year dedication of our hard work.

In conclusion, this place is a romantic date idea or a marriage proposal location filled with Christmas scenery, as we even witnessed a proposal while we were there. The Toronto Christmas Market is a must check-it-out spot during the month of December, and it will definitely make you feel magical during the holiday season.
