Review: Cactus Club Cafe

Thirsty Thursday – is the norm for anyone in the Finance Profession. It entails going out on a Thursday evening/night to order drinks at a lounge or bar within the financial district.

I think it’s a great tradition to do each and every Thursday evening as a stress-relief. So my roommate and I made it our drinking tradition that we would go to Cactus Club, for many reasons:

  • Amazing mixed drinks, cocktails & Sparking wine, also food!
  • Price reasonable
  • Served beautifully
  • The atmosphere is alive & fun in a modern way
  • Great service – Friendly staff
  • No doubt a popular spot in the Financial district with a DJ spinning Top 40 tracks

We have tried the following items on the menu:

We started off our drinking tradition with “NOTHING BUT PINK” – peach schnapps, Smirnoff vodka, citrus and cranberry juice with a splash of Bellini, they cost $11.00 CAD.

It was our ultimate favorite one of the menu.

Nothing but Pink

We paired our dessert with FRENCH 75 – Gordon’s dry gin, sugar and fresh lemon, topped with sparkling wine, served in a flute cost $11.50 CAD.

It has a bubbly structure, the taste is not too sweet which made it go perfect with our dessert.

Last but not least, We ordered:

MOSCOW MULE – Smirnoff vodka, fresh squeezed lime, ginger beer, served in a copper cup cost $9.00 CAD.

This drink was refreshing because of the lime taste it had to it and it has a bit of a sparkle in it – splendid last drink we tried in the menu.

We ordered the following desserts:

WHITE CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE – chocolate cookie crust, raspberry compote, hand whipped cream

CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER CRUNCH BAR – Tahitian vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, crunchy chocolate pearls

All the desserts on the menu cost $9.00 CAD which is great and it gives you a selection of options.

Dessert: White Chocolate Cheesecake & Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch Bar

In conclusion, I would recommend going to the Cactus Club around 10pm for good music, any time later would be too late and the crowd will die down, it was crowded and busy as always but we hang around the bar area and found a tiny bar table with two seaters. I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to have a great evening in the financial district because of all the reasons listed above. Enjoy Cactus Club!
